Who converts
images to PDF?
Creating a PDF from images is one of the most practical everyday document tasks, particularly for anyone working with scanned or photographed content.
01
Scanning documents on a phone
Photograph a paper document with your phone, convert the images to PDF, and send a professional-looking document rather than a collection of loose photos. Works with bank statements, contracts, and ID documents.
02
Small business receipts and invoices
Combine photos of receipts from a business trip into a single PDF for expense reporting. Much easier to email to your accountant or attach to an expense claim than sending a dozen separate images.
03
Real estate listings and property docs
Turn a set of property photos or floor plan images into a single polished PDF to share with clients or attach to a listing. Arrange the images in a logical order before converting.
04
Students with handwritten notes
Photograph handwritten notes, lecture whiteboard content, or hand-drawn diagrams and convert them to PDF for archiving, sharing, or annotating digitally in the PDFHaul viewer.
How image to PDF conversion works
Each image you upload becomes one page in the output PDF. The sequence you set before converting is the page order in the final document. Images are embedded into the PDF at the quality level you specify rather than at their full original resolution, which keeps output file sizes practical.
The page size setting determines the dimensions of each page in the PDF: A4, Letter, or other standard sizes. This does not resize your image to fill those exact dimensions. The Fit Mode setting controls how each image is positioned within the page boundaries. Contain scales the image down until it fits entirely within the page with its original aspect ratio preserved, adding white space around the edges if the image proportions differ from the page. Cover scales the image up until it fills the page, cropping any content that falls outside the page boundaries. Fill stretches the image to exactly match the page dimensions, which distorts the image if the aspect ratios differ.
JPEG images are re-compressed during embedding. The Quality setting controls how much compression is applied. At high quality settings the difference from the original is imperceptible. At lower settings, JPEG artefacts become visible in areas of flat colour. PNG images can be embedded losslessly.
