What happens when you duplicate a PDF page
Duplicating creates a new PDF where a copy of the selected page is inserted immediately after its original. The copy is pixel-for-pixel identical to the source page — same text, same images, same formatting — because it's a direct copy of the page content, not a re-rendered version.
Every other page in the document is preserved exactly as it was. Only the page count and the position of pages after the insertion point change, the same way inserting a physical photocopy into a paper document would shift everything after it.
You can duplicate multiple pages in one pass, and duplicate the same page more than once if you need several copies. Combined with drag-and-drop reordering in the same tool, you can build the exact final page sequence you need — duplicates included — before saving.
Internal hyperlinks or bookmarks that reference a fixed page number can point to different content once pages shift, the same caveat that applies to reordering. For documents without page-number-specific links (forms, scanned pages, most reports), duplicating is clean and complete.
